Dr Patankar has four publications in International journals:

1. Anterior cervical discectomy: Is in situ fixation and fusion required.—British Journal of Neurosurgery.

2. Brainstem glioma presenting with hemichorea: British Journal of Neurosurgery.

3. Cervical intramedullary dermoid: Asian Journal of Neurosurgery.

• Dr Patankar also presented a paper at Spine conference 2015 at Ahmedabad.

• Craniovertebral junction anomalies: A review of 50 cases.

Dr Patankar Was the first to perform Neuroendoscopy of brain in Vadodara district.

• Has special interest and expertise in surgery for trigeminal neuralgia and hemifacial spasm with an experience of over 150 cases operated successfully.

• Was the pioneer of Minimal Invasive Spine Surgery (MISS) at SSG Hospital with an experience of over 50 cases operated successfully.

• has operated more than 200 cases of craniovertebral junction anomalies (CVJ anomalies)

• Fellowship in Advanced Neurosurgery at SGH Singapore.

• Fellowship in Endoscopy at Trier,Germany.

• MISS training at Medtronic
